User Frame File Linearization Method (FF_LM) for Display and Printer Output

Application of FF_LM for Output on a User Printer and a User Display at (Office) Work Places

- For most device systems by FF_LM all user YES/NO criteria, for example according to ISO 92412-306, DIN 33872-1 to 6 and others can be fulfilled.
- This website shows solutions for ISO/IEC-, DIN and other test charts by PostScript (PS) programming code for PS and PDF files.
- According to CIE R1-47:2009 a device-independent elementary hue output is produced which uses in the visual RGB* colour space.
- For many displays and printers and for the output linearization the CIELAB output measurement of 9x9x9 colours is necessary only once.
- A linearization method similar to ISO/IEC TR 19797:2004 produces equally spaced colour series for equally spaced rgb input data.
- FF_LM increases the output efficiency by a factor 10 for printers and up to a factor 150 for displays, see (11 pages, 500 KB) ISO_ACR_10.PDF
- FF_LM is intended for a trusted document output at user work places, and with any computer operating system.
- At (office) work places the affine transformation of FF_LM leads to many advantages compared to ICC colour management (ISO 15076-1:2010).
- All rgb input data, for example the sRGB data of IEC 61966-2-1:1999, are interpreted as visual rgb* data.
- The visual efficiency of FF_LM can be tested by either visual evaluations without a reference or by colorimetric specifications.
