Purpose of the test files
with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image
The test files with 1080 colours
and an ISO/IEC-image serve for the colorimetric specification and
the visual evaluation of the output.
The ISO/IEC-image is defined in ISO/IEC 15775.
PDF-
and PS-test files for relative
colour image reproduction with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image.
Calculated for eight viewing conditions according to ISO EN DIN 9241-306:2018
The ISO/IEC image is defined in ISO/IEC 15775:1999 and includes
the 14 CIE-test colours according to CIE 13.3 and an equally spaced 16 step gray scale.
The output is intended for both the device hue output (DH, folders OE90 to OE94)
and the device independent elementary hue output (DEH, folders OE95 to OE99)
according to the CIE Reportership Report R1-47:2009 "Hue Angles of Elementary Colours"
of Thorstein Seim (2009, 35 pages), see
http://web.archive.org/web/20160304130704/http://files.cie.co.at/526.pdf
Purpose of test files with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image:
The following files with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image serve for the colorimetric specification and visual assessment of the output. The ISO/IEC-image is defined in ISO/IEC 15775.
Example test file output
with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image:
Fig. OE94L0NA: Page 1 of the original file OE94L0NA.PS with the format A6, see
OE94L0NA_1.
EPS /
TXT /
tiff /
jpg /
PDF.
The four 16-step grey scales in Fig. OE94L0NA in the image range 10 to 25 and k to n are defined by four equivalent grey definitions, here 000n setcymkcolor, w setgray, cmy0 setcmykcolor and rgb setrgbcolor. Depending on the computer operating system (Windows, Mac, and Unix) and on the PDF Reader then in Fig. OE94L0NA up to four different grey scales are produced in the output. This is similar for chromatic colours with the equivalent colour definitions cmy0 setcmykcolor and rgb setrgbcolor in the image range 0 to 27 and A to j.
Fig. OE94F1AX: Page 1 of the file OE94F1AX.PS with the format A6, see
OE94F1AX_1.
EPS /
TXT /
tiff /
jpg /
PDF.
The Frame File (OE94F1AX) includes the 1-Minus-Relation (1MR) and changes the unequal colours in the Fig. OE94L0NA into equal colours in the Fig. OE94F1AX. In addition and for the eight viewing conditions the Frame File produces the eight intended changes, see for example (8 pages, 20 MB)
OE94F1P0.PDF
In Fig. OE94F1AX the 1-Minus-Relation (1MR) is applied by the Frame File. The application leads to the equal colours for the four equivalent grey scales and the chromatic colours.
Also achromatic and chromatic DIN-test charts according to DIN 33872-3 and -4 test the output of equallity for equivalent colour definitions, see
OE74F0AX.PDF and
OE75F0AX.PDF
Fig. OE99F1AX: Page 1 of the file OE99F1AX.PS with the format A6, see
OE99F1AX_1.
EPS /
TXT /
tiff /
jpg /
PDF.
The Frame File (F1AX) includes the 1-Minus-Relation (1MR) and the Device to Elementary Hue (DEH) transfer and changes the output of the Fig. L0NA into the intended direction. In addition for the eight viewing conditions the Frame File produces the eight intended changes, see for example (8 pages, 20 MB)
OE99F1P0.PDF
Also in Fig. OE99F1AX the 1-Minus-Relation is applied. Therefore equivalent colour definitions produce the equal output. In addition in Fig. OE94F1AX the transform Device to Elementary Hue (DEH) is applied by the Frame File. In Addition in Fig. OE99F1AX the Frame File transforms the CIELAB-hue angles of the sRGB-device colours RYGBd into the CIELAB-hue angles of the Elementary colours RYGBe. Instead of the device hue angles habd = 40, 103, 136, 306 the device independent elementary hue angles habe = 26, 92, 162, and 272 according to CIE R1-47:2009 are produced. The four colours RYGB are at the image positions 01-I, 10-a, 09-A, and 18-S. The colorimetric and visual hue angle ist largest for Blue B between visual reddish Blue Bd and Blue Be which appears neither reddish nor greenish (definition of the Elementary Hue according to CIE R1-47:2009).
Also the chromatic DIN-test charts according to DIN 33872-5 tests the output property "Agreement with Elementary Hue", see
OE76F0AX.PDF (Output Device Hue (DH)) und
OE86F1AX.PDF (Output Device to Elementary Hue (DEH))
For the transform of the Device Hue angles habd into the Elementary Hue angles habe in steps of 1 degree and for the sRGB-colour space according to IEC 61966-2-1, see (110 pages, 6,2 MB)

with the orientation A4L (L=Landscape)
Table 1: Test charts 1 and 2 with 1080 colours and an ISO/IEC-image for eight viewing conditions (Contrast steps CY1 to CY8).
The output is either for the Device Hue (DH, folders OE90 to OE94) or the Device to Elementary Hue (DEH, folders OE95 to OE99) for the sRGB colour space according to IEC 61966-2-1 and CIE R1-47.
Remarks:
The files are given in the formats TXT, PS, and PDF and produce the output orientation A4L (L=Landscsape).
Approximately any editor opens the file with the extension .TXT and shows the PS-programming code.
Some internet browsers, for example Safari on Mac or Windows change all the files with the extension .PS to a PDF file and show a PDF-file output. In some cases the direct and the produced PDF file output (from the PS file) differs, for example because of "smoothing" of the output.
To make the PDF files readable with approximately any PDF reader, the software Adobe Distiller, Version 3 has been used which produces the PDF-Version 1.2.
The PS, TXT, and PDF files in ASCII-Code are not compressed and lead maximal to the file size 20 MB, if an ISO/IEC image is included.
