EPS- and PDF-Files of Tables 1 to 3 of main text of ISO 15775

Information is given how to use and how to reproduce EPS- and PDF-Files
of Tables 1 to 3 of main text of ISO 15775.

Different filenames are used for each Table. The content and the intension is decribed.

 Filename

Content of the Figure or Table

Intention of the Figure or Table

CIELAB-difference of copy and reference

 IETA031

 ISO-Reference material code and examples
for colour copying machines

Examples for input, output and the comparison
of ISO-Reference material codes

Examples of 3 Tables are given according to the main text of ISO 15775
The EPS- and PDF-files IETA0n1 (n = 1 to 3) in PostScript (EPS) and Portable Document (PDF)
include as text the short termsof colours, L*a*b*-data and ISO-Reference material code of ISO 15775.

By any PS- or PDF-interpreter (e. g. in Table 2) all L*a*b*-data are formated and ISO-calculations are produced within the table by the actual data of the table.
A user can include his intended and / or produced (measured or ideal) L*a*b*-data by any editor in the files IETAn1 (n=1 to 2)
(it is easy to find the ISO 15775 values as text near the beginning)
and then all ISO-calcuations are done by any PS- or PDF-interpreter according to Annex G of ISO 15775.

The file format of the files ISO(FI/TA)n1 (n = 1 to 5) is EPS (PostScript) and PDF (Portable Document).
One of this two formats can be used for output on any operating system (Mac, Windows, Unix),
and both on any monitor and on any printer either black and white or colour.

If you are not familiar with these file formats look first at the remarks after the following table
 Acrobat 3.0 / 2.1  TXT - filename  EPS - filename  PDF - filename
Table 1 IETA011.TXT
17 kByte
IETA011.EPS
17 kByte
IETA011.PDF

Table 2 IETA021.TXT

 IETA021.EPS

IETA021.PDF

 Table 3

IETA031.TXT
9 kByte

IETA031.EPS

IETA031.PDF
6 kByte

Two identical PostScript-files are presented with the file extensions ".TXT" and ".EPS".
The PDF-files are produced from EPS-files using the software
Adobe Acrobat Distiller 3.0 and the additional 2.1-compatibility option.

Remark for download of this page with the EPS-, TXT- and PDF-files
One can download this page and the corresponding EPS- and PDF-files to work offline with a Web-browser.
Restriction: For work on any platform (Mac, Windows 3.1, 95, NT, Unix)
the files must be downloaded with filenames in capital letters and in the same directory as this page
Use for this page the filename INFIE04 with the extension ".HTM" (Windows 3.1) and ".html "
for other platforms (Mac, Windows, Unix). There are no crosslinks to other Web-pages.

Remarks about the software "Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 and 2.1":
The output on any printer and monitor is usually dependend on both the PDF-file type, e. g. 3.0 or 2.1,
and the "Adobe Acrobat Reader (or Exchange)"-software used, e. g. 3.0 or 2.1.
The present version is recommended: the PDF-file type 3.0 and the software Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0

If the software "Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0" is not installed it may be downloaded
for any operating system from the Web-site: www.adobe.com.
This software exists license and charge free separately or as Netscape- or Microsoft-Browser-Plug-In.
If only the "Reader 2.1" is installed one may use the PDF-files specified as "Acrobat (3.0 and) 2.1".

Remarks about the PostScript (PS- or EPS-) source code files:
Identical PostScript source code is presented with the file extensions ".TXT "and ".EPS" twice.
One can read the source code automaticly as .TXT file by any Web-browser.
One can read the identical EPS-file- or PS-file-program code within a Web-browser
if one connects the file extensions ".EPS" or ".PS" with an editor of the operating system
(for Windows: e.g. "NotePad" for small and "WordPad" for large EPS- or PS-files)
(for Macintosh: e.g."Simple text" for small and "BBedit" for large EPS- or PS-files).

Any PS-printer interprets the "%!PS-" at the beginning of a file as as PS-file.
Any PS-Printer will produce identical output for both using "copy" (Windows) or "download" (Mac)
the PS-file to the PS-printer and independent of the file extension ".PS", ".EPS" or ".TXT".
Any Display-PostScript-system will produce identical output on any colour monitor
and independent of the file extension ".PS", ".EPS" or ".TXT"

Other Software for EPS-, PS- and PDF-files
There is other software which can read and transform EPS-, PS- and PDF-files
(unfortunately often not PostScript Level 2 and 3 with device independent colours)
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Framemaker
The main program for any PostScript Level is Adobe Acrobat Distiller
which transforms any EPS- or PS-file to a PDF-file
(many options with different influence on colour output)

Remark: In a future step an ISO-standard process should make the output for CIELAB colors in the EPS-, PS- or PDF-files independent of colour device and software within 3 CIELAB units after calibration of the device!
